We have places to sleep!

We have officially booked each night of our trip! Or, in one case, decided not to book something. Yes, we plan to stay up all night, and/or sleep in the airport during our final layover in Reykjavik, Iceland. Wow. This is happening!

Jeff and I have started a list of things we want to do in each city/area ... any suggestions?
We'll be in:
Berlin, Munich, Fussen, Germany
Lauterbrunnen & Gimmewald, Murren, Switzerland
Bordeaux region, Paris, France
Edinburgh, Western Coast, Isle of Islay and Isle of Skye, Scotland

Now, on to the packing... since we're traveling budget airlines, we have to pack lightly!

  1. Great job so far on the packing practice, Michelle. It was fun shopping for "light" poly/spandex today. Looking forward to seeing what unfolds on your adventures soon! love, mom

  2. Oh my so excited for you!! Highlights in Paris were D'Orsay museum (all the impressionists..Monet, Manet, Van Gogh..,)
Notre Dame Cathedral, climbing to the top to be with the cool freaky gargoyles and your climb is rewarded with the most amazing view of Paris and the Seine river from there. To save time at the Eiffel Tower we climbed the stairs to the first or second level. Great views and no wait. Avoid gypsy kids trying to sell you something below tower. They are cute pick pocketers.
Rue Cler near Eiffel Towet (easy walking distance) is a great cute street market. Watch how the Parisians shop with their doggies and check out the amazing cheese shops etc here.

  3. How long will you be in Edinburgh? And will you be driving or flying to the west?

  4. We'll be in Edinburgh one night - staying right by the Castle. Then driving west to the coast...

Thanks for the Paris tips, Aunt Wendy! Super helpful!
